Such alot of really nice things said about a great bunch of folks.

As always when real life takes you away from us, your commentary will be sorely missed. So Long PC, good luck in the real world, return to us when you can.

Ah, Prof...
Some more "sage" advice for you, then.

Since I've been out and about on my new ride, I've managed to broaden my horizons a bit. Actually meet some real interesting characters, all good (of course...I only hang out with the best). Even these biker chicks were pretty awesome.

Life is good. Off to the air race again.

Prof, DC isn't that far away from some of us. (Don't know if that's a threat or a promise.)

Congratulations on the new job!

Anyway, if I haven't said it before, thanks for coming back to pathfinder all those years ago to lead the second wave of refugees over to SciFi Sites.

Red face

Air race this past weekend.

18th place out of 41 entrants, 40 finishers (one engine failure; they landed at a small airport and hitched a ride to the ceremonies to receive their "Red Baron" award).

18th place. We've won it in the past, and made some people nervous otherwise.

18th place. 1.5 gallons more fuel in Bakersfield than we estimated-177 points (with a fudge-factor used to figure out fuel consumption fairly), 1 second early, 1 point for 178 penalty points. 1.5 gallons under in Laughlin - 176 points and 30 seconds late for 186 points and a total of 364. (Oh...yeah, we found the bonus check point on the second leg, which has a value of -20 points...that's why the wacky math). We did great on fuel end-to-end, but...18th place. I'm doing the fueling next year...not by my choice, either.

First place? 1 second, 2/10's of a gallon to Bakersfield, 3 seconds and 2/10's (that's about 25 oz. while using ~25 gallons) to Laughlin. That's flying to five locations on each leg, and getting to the fifth point on time (to the second) and landing with as close to using the amount of fuel you stated 2 hours 40 minutes earlier just before you took off. The second leg was 3 hours long. Fortunately, it's with someone you get along with pretty well.

18th place. Eh, there's next year.
